Learn French: learn to say the years (with a bit of French culture)
Tu connais ces deux vieilles voitures françaises ?
La 2CV et la 4L ?
Les deux noms sont drôles.
On entend deux chevaux et quatre ailes.
Les usines Citroën ont fabriqué la 2CV …
… de 1948 … [mille-neuf-cent-quarante-huit]
… à 1990. [mille-neuf-cent-quatre-vingt-dix]
Les usines Renault ont fabriqué la 4L …
… de 1961 … [mille-neuf-cent-soixante-et-un]
… à 1992. [mille-neuf-cent-quatre-vingt-douze]
Quelle voiture préfères-tu ?
Moi, j’aime beaucoup la 4L.
Practice saying the years in French
It’s true that counting in French is difficult, especially from 70 to 99. The solution is to train, as if it were fitness. The more you train, the better you become. A little every day, to strengthen your French brain…
But before you can say the numbers, you also have to know how to recognize them. Here is a listening exercise with years (not always easy to understand). Have fun.
à bientôt, Jérôme
